SERRA VOCATIONAL CHALICE PROGRAM

Dear Friends,

The Serra Vocational Chalice Program is seeking families to volunteer to receive the chalice and place it in their home for one week The family is pledged to saying special prayers each day for vocations to the priesthood in general and our parish in particular.

Perhaps you have seen families participating in the program on Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. Mass and wondered how your family could participate. The procedure is simple. Once you volunteer, you will be contacted to set up your weekend to receive the chalice. On that date, arrive early at Mass to sit near the front. At the end of Mass, the priest will call your family to the altar to receive the chalice. You then process out of church. During the week, usually at dinner, please say the prayers that are included with the chalice for vocations. The next Sunday, arrive at Mass early and wait in the vestibule. Your family will then process up the aisle, and the priest will take the chalice from you and place it on the altar in preparation for the new family to receive the chalice.

Thank you for your consideration of this very worthwhile program. The program is open to all families of St. Dominic Parish. Single parents, grandparents or guardians and families with high school teenagers are all welcome. If you would like to participate, please fill in the form below and return it to the school or rectory in an envelope marked "Vocational Chalice." Remember that you must commit to attend 10:30 a.m. Mass for two consecutive Sundays. If you have any questions, please call Rod or Diana Steffen at 482-9436.
